Description
The Boson Starter Kit for micro:bit is a modular electronics and coding kit featuring eight interactive sensors and actuators designed to work seamlessly with the BBC micro:bit. Suitable for learners aged 10 and above, educators, and makers, it enables hands-on exploration of sound, light, and motion projects. Note that the BBC micro:bit board is not included and must be purchased separately.
Award-winning STEM learning platform
Designed to introduce beginners and students to programming and physical computing, the Boson kit received Five Stars in the 2018 Teach Primary Resource Awards. It provides an intuitive, hands-on path for building interactive electronics, robotics, and digital games.

micro:bit and micro:bit V2 compatibility
The kit connects reliably to both the original BBC micro:bit and micro:bit V2 via the included expansion board. It is fully compatible with the Microsoft MakeCode JavaScript online editor and the Python editor.

Eight plug-and-play interactive modules
The set includes eight curated digital and analogue modules, including a sound sensor, motion sensor, rotation sensor, push button, LED, mini fan, mini servo, and RGB LED strip. Modules communicate via standard 3-pin interfaces to enable sound, light, and motion interaction without soldering.

Dedicated expansion board with auxiliary power
The expansion board features an edge connector, six fool-proof 3-pin sockets, an I2C interface, and a Gravity HuskyLens interface. An onboard 5V micro-USB power port provides external current for high-draw modules like the motor and servo, though it cannot be used for program uploading.

Quick start guide and project tutorials
The kit includes a quick start guide featuring wiring instructions and sample code for four basic projects, such as a smart fan control system. Step-by-step tutorials provide a structured learning path from beginner fundamentals to advanced applications.
