Description

The Beetle ESP32 is an ultra-compact microcontroller board designed for wearable electronics, IoT applications, and space-constrained builds. Featuring dual-mode wireless connectivity and large sewable contacts, it suits makers, students, and hobbyists creating smart textiles and connected projects.

Dual-core Tensilica LX6 processor

Powered by a 240MHz Tensilica LX6 dual-core processor, the board dedicates one core to high-speed wireless connectivity and the other to standalone program execution. It includes 520KB of SRAM and 16Mbit of integrated flash memory.

Integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

The module provides 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi at transfer rates up to 150 Mbps alongside Bluetooth 4.2 supporting BR, EDR, and BLE. This dual wireless support enables broad compatibility with IoT networks and mobile devices.

Wearable-friendly gold-plated pads

With a compact footprint of 35mm by 34mm, the board features large gold-plated I/O pads and honeycomb power connections. These pads allow you to attach wires with screws or sew the board directly into clothing without soldering.

Analogue, digital, and bus interfaces

The controller breaks out four digital pins (D2, D3, D4, D7) and four analogue pins (A0, A1, A2, A3). It also features dedicated I2C and UART serial ports for connecting sensors, displays, and peripheral hardware.

Direct Micro USB programming

Firmware can be programmed and debugged directly via the on-board Micro USB port without an external programmer. Stable timing is maintained by integrated 40MHz and 32.768kHz crystal oscillators.

Flexible power supply options

The board operates from a standard 5.0V USB power source or a 3.5V to 6.5V DC supply connected to the VIN pin, making it easy to run projects from small batteries.
