Description
The WAVE ROVER is a rugged, full-metal 4WD mobile robot chassis designed for students, educators, and advanced makers building autonomous vehicles. Featuring an onboard ESP32 driver board and support for powerful host controllers like the Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano, this versatile platform is ideal for exploring robotics, lidar mapping, and secondary development.
Rugged aluminium alloy chassis
Built from 2mm thick 5052 aluminium alloy, this full-metal chassis provides a robust foundation for demanding projects. The 80mm flexible rubber tyres with nylon hubs allow the rover to climb 22-degree slopes and clear vertical obstacles up to 40mm.

Powerful four-wheel drive system
Equipped with four N20 geared motors running at 12V and 200RPM, the rover achieves a top running speed of 1.25m/s. The high-quality gearboxes deliver reliable torque, supporting a driving payload of up to 0.8kg.

Onboard ESP32 slave controller
The integrated driver board features an ESP32 module with onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless communication and control. It supports driving serial bus servos, outputting PWM signals, and includes an expandable TF card slot.

Expandable host computer mounting
The included mounting plate easily accommodates host computers such as the Raspberry Pi 4B, Jetson Nano, and Jetson Orin Nano. This allows the host computer to communicate directly with the ESP32 slave controller via a serial UART port.

Integrated UPS power supply
A built-in 3S UPS power module supports three 18650 lithium batteries to provide uninterruptible power. The system supports charging and power output at the same time, ensuring stable operation during development.

Lidar and camera integration
Designed for secondary development, the mounting plate has dedicated space for installing LD19 or STL-27L lidar modules and pan-tilt cameras. An onboard UART-to-USB circuit simplifies data transmission between the lidar and your host computer.

Onboard OLED status screen
A 0.91-inch OLED screen is integrated into the chassis to display real-time system status and diagnostics. This makes debugging and monitoring easier without needing an external monitor.
