Description
The 51W PoE Expansion Board is a dedicated power and networking add-on designed specifically for the LattePanda IOTA single-board computer. Compliant with the IEEE 802.3bt standard, it delivers up to 51W of power alongside Gigabit Ethernet data across a single cable. It is ideal for makers, engineers, and educators creating edge AI, IoT gateways, and industrial automation projects.
Single-cable power and Gigabit data
Operating on the IEEE 802.3bt standard with a 37–57V DC input, this expansion board provides up to 51W of power and 1.0 Gbps network connectivity over a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies wiring and eliminates separate power supplies in compact enclosures or remote installations.
Dedicated 12V peripheral power
The board features a dedicated 12V DC connector to power external components such as sensors, cooling fans, and actuators directly. A separate 4-pin connector supplies power straight to the LattePanda IOTA board.
Hardware and mounting accessories
Connection to the LattePanda IOTA is handled via an included 16-pin PCIe 3.0 x1 FPC cable. The kit also supplies M3 single-ended and double-ended standoffs to support stacked or side-by-side mounting configurations.
Operation and compatibility notes
PoE power is supported exclusively through the expansion board's Ethernet port, not the LattePanda IOTA onboard port. An IEEE 802.3bt compliant power source is required to prevent boot failures, and mild heating of the silver inductor under light load is normal behaviour.
