Description

The XT-S1 is a lightweight, single-point Time-of-Flight (ToF) LiDAR sensor capable of measuring distances from 0.3 to 30 metres. Operating with minimal power draw and strong ambient light resistance, it is ideal for makers, students, and engineers developing autonomous drones, mobile robotics, and smart tracking systems.

Lightweight and low-power design

Weighing only 9 grams and operating on 4.8V to 5.2V, the sensor consumes under 0.5W (less than 100mA). This minimal footprint and energy demand make it exceptionally well suited for battery-powered projects and weight-critical aerial platforms.

Long-range outdoor optical performance

The sensor achieves a detection range from 0.3m up to 30m with 1cm resolution and an update rate of up to 50Hz. With 100klux ambient light immunity, it maintains reliable measurement accuracy even under intense direct sunlight.

Robotics and drone applications

The module is designed for real-time distance tracking across multiple domains, including altitude holding for unmanned aerial vehicles and obstacle avoidance for ground robots. It can also be deployed in smart home installations for human position tracking and environmental sensing.

Multiple communication interfaces

System integration is straightforward thanks to support for UART, I2C, and IO communication protocols. Each sensor comes supplied with a 6-pin DuPont cable for fast connection to development boards and microcontrollers.

Optical characteristics and safety

Operating at a 940nm wavelength, the system uses a 2-degree half-angle emitter and a 1-degree half-angle receiver for focused point ranging. Users should avoid looking directly into the laser aperture during operation.
