XL-MaxSonar-WR MB7060-200 Waterproof Ultrasonic Distance Sensor (0~765m, IP67)

The XL-MaxSonar-WR MB7060-200 is an IP67-rated waterproof ultrasonic distance sensor engineered for demanding outdoor and industrial environments. It delivers acoustic distance measurement from 20cm to 645cm with 1cm resolution, offering analogue voltage, PWM, and RS232 serial outputs. Rugged IP67 waterproof housing

The sensor features a compact cylindrical PVC enclosure engineered to IP67 standards for protection against dust and water ingress. Its threading matches standard 3/4-inch PVC electrical pipe fittings, allowing simple mechanical installation into outdoor stations, field enclosures, and mobile robot chassis.

High acoustic power signal processing

A transformer-driven 42kHz transducer produces 1/2 watt peak acoustic power for strong signal transmission. Continuously variable gain control, real-time waveform signature analysis, and advanced noise rejection algorithms provide stable readings even in electrically noisy or reflective environments.

Multiple digital and analogue outputs

The module supports three concurrent output formats: RS232 serial at 9600 bps, pulse-width output at 147uS per inch, and analogue voltage scaled to (Vcc/512) per inch. These options ensure seamless connectivity with microcontrollers such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi as well as embedded industrial systems.

Target detection range and behaviour

The sensor detects objects from 3cm to 645cm with usable ranging data provided from 20cm to 645cm at a 10Hz reading rate. Objects closer than 20cm (down to 3cm) are reported as 20cm to maintain consistent output near the minimum operational threshold.

Low power consumption and compatibility

Operating across a wide 3V to 5.5V supply range, the sensor draws only 2.1mA at 3.3V and 3.4mA at 5V for energy-efficient battery or solar-powered deployments. Note that this module does not include internal temperature compensation.
