Description
The Xboard Relay is an Arduino Leonardo-compatible microcontroller board combining an ATmega32u4 processor, a Wiz5100 Ethernet chip, and two onboard relays. Designed for IoT automation and network-connected monitoring, it is ideal for makers, students, and engineers building remote switching systems. It enables both data acquisition and hardware control over local networks and the internet.
Leonardo compatibility and onboard Ethernet
Powered by an ATmega32u4 running at 16 MHz, the board features an integrated Wiz5100 Ethernet controller that is fully compatible with the standard Arduino Ethernet library. Because the W5100 chip generates heat during network communication, adding a small heatsink is recommended.
Dual onboard power relays
The two onboard relays support a rated through-current of 10A for normally open (NO) circuits and 5A for normally closed (NC) circuits. They handle maximum switching voltages up to 250VAC or 30VDC, featuring a 10ms operate time and a 5ms release time.
Direct USB sketch uploading
Unlike earlier X-board iterations, this board requires no dedicated programming adapter. Code can be uploaded directly through a standard micro USB cable.
Wireless socket and breakout interfaces
An onboard Xbee socket allows for wireless module integration alongside wired Ethernet. Additional hardware connections include two analog inputs, one I2C interface, and four digital I/O pins.
Power supply specifications
The board accepts an external power supply ranging from 7.2V to 12V, or can be powered directly via 5V micro USB. Relay control lines operate using standard TTL logic levels.
Included package contents
Each pack contains one fully assembled Xboard Relay module.
