The WHEELTEC Single-Point Laser Ranging Sensor Module is a high-precision distance-measurement tool designed for advanced robotics and maker projects. Available in STP-23 and STP-23L variants, it offers millimetre-level accuracy and seamless integration with popular development platforms. ROS and STM32 integration
This high-precision laser ranging module supports both ROS1 and ROS2 frameworks, making it highly adaptable for modern robotic software stacks. Developers can quickly get started using the provided STM32 acquisition code to streamline data collection.

Precision ranging performance
The STP-23 variant delivers a wide measurement range of 0.1 to 13.4 metres with an ultra-high ranging frequency of 4500 Hz. For close-range precision, the STP-23L model measures from 0.07 to 7.5 metres at 120 Hz, offering an accuracy of up to plus or minus 15 millimetres at short distances.

Compact and efficient design
Weighing just 10.0 grams for the STP-23 and 6.8 grams for the STP-23L, these lightweight sensors operate on a 4.5V to 5.5V input voltage. Both models feature a compact form factor, a 5-millimetre spot diameter, and communicate via UART at high baud rates.

Laser safety and durability
Engineered for reliability, both sensor models comply with IEC-60825 Class 1 laser safety standards, ensuring safe operation in educational and hobbyist environments. With an operational lifespan of 10000 hours and a wide working temperature range of -10 to 50 degrees Celsius, they are built to withstand demanding project conditions.
