Description
The Waveshare R7FA4 Plus is a 32-bit development board powered by the Renesas RA4M1 Arm Cortex-M4 microcontroller running at 48MHz, offering compatibility with the Arduino UNO R4 Minima. Equipped with 256 kB Flash and 32 kB RAM, it delivers expanded memory and processing performance for complex embedded projects. It is an ideal platform for students, hobbyists, and makers who require versatile connectivity, a 12-bit DAC, and onboard CAN bus support.
Upgraded 32-bit processing and memory
Powered by the Renesas R7FA4M1AB3CFM 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 microcontroller running at 48MHz, this board easily manages demanding computational tasks. The inclusion of 256 kB Flash memory and 32 kB RAM provides ample headroom for larger sketches and advanced software libraries.
Expanded peripherals and connectivity
The board features 14 digital I/O pins, 6 analogue inputs, 6 PWM outputs, and dual DAC outputs, alongside hardware UART, I2C, SPI, and CAN bus interfaces. An onboard ICSP interface is also available for SPI connections, with solder pads provided for experimental board interfacing.
Flexible power supply and voltage selection
Selectable 5V and 3.3V headers allow easy voltage switching to support a broader variety of expansion shields. The board accepts 6V to 24V external power input via its low-profile DC jack or USB-C, providing a high-drive 5V output of up to 2000mA.
Hardware design and status monitoring
A lateral reset button ensures convenient access even when expansion shields are mounted directly on top. Integrated onboard LEDs provide clear status indication for power (PWR), user code (USER), and serial transmission (TX and RX).
