Waterproof SMD DS18B20 Digital Temperature Sensor

The Waterproof SMD DS18B20 Digital Temperature Sensor provides accurate surface temperature readings over a simple 1-Wire interface. Encased in a waterproof enclosure with high-temperature silicone wiring, it delivers steady performance in damp environments without signal degradation over long cable runs. It is well suited to students, makers, and engineers building environmental logging, automation, or multi-point thermal monitoring systems.

Single-bus digital communication

The sensor transmits digital temperature data with configurable 9-bit to 12-bit resolution over a 1-Wire bus, using only one digital pin on a microprocessor. Because the data stream is digital, readings remain crisp and accurate across long cable distances.

Multi-point sensor networking

Each DS18B20 chip features a factory-embedded unique 64-bit serial code that allows multiple sensors to be connected in parallel on the same bus. This lets a single microcontroller track temperatures across complex installations such as HVAC controls, machinery, and building management systems.

Solderless adapter connectivity

The 1-metre lead wire connects cleanly with a DFR0055 terminal adapter, allowing you to interface directly with an IO expansion board without soldering. Colour-coded wiring provides quick identification for power, ground, and data lines.

Rugged silicone lead wire

Equipped with high-grade silicon lead wiring rated between -55°C and +125°C, the assembly offers superior thermal resistance compared to standard PVC cabling. Its surface-mount waterproof design maintains reliable measurement stability in damp conditions.

Operating voltage and thermal range

Running on 3V to 5.5V logic, the sensor features a primary measurement range of -10°C to +85°C and an overall operating range of -55°C to +125°C. Conversion query time completes in 750ms or less, supporting prompt thermal updates for automated control loops.
