USBtinyISP - Arduino Bootloader Programmer

The USBtinyISP is an AVR programmer designed to reflash microcontrollers and restore bootloaders on non-responsive Arduino boards. It connects directly via USB and suits makers, students, and educators maintaining AVR development boards.

Arduino IDE and AVRDUDE compatibility

The module is supported natively by the official Arduino IDE and communicates with AVRDUDE. It works reliably with ATmega168 and ATmega328 chips as well as other AVR microcontrollers supported by AVRDUDE.

Corrupted bootloader recovery

When an Arduino loses its bootloader or stops responding over serial, this programmer burns a fresh bootloader to restore standard operation. It enables in-system programming directly over the AVR ISP headers.

Dual 6-pin and 10-pin connectors

The hardware supports both standard 6-pin and 10-pin AVR target headers. This dual-interface design ensures compatibility across a wide range of official and custom AVR boards.

Refined hardware design

Based on the USBtiny code and design version 2.0, the unit incorporates a V3 board layout revision for improved usability. It maintains complete backwards compatibility with earlier hardware versions.

Included cables and hardware

The kit includes one USBtinyISP programmer module, one 6-pin ribbon cable, and one 10-pin ribbon cable. Everything needed to interface with standard AVR ISP targets is supplied in the box.
