Description
This USB to RS422/RS485 converter cable provides a reliable bridge between modern USB ports and industrial serial interfaces. It is ideal for makers, technicians, and educators connecting computers to PLCs, CNC machines, sensors, and multi-drop serial networks.
Plug-and-play USB connection
The converter is powered directly from the USB bus with no external power supply needed. It allows PCs, servers, and thin clients to establish an instant RS422 or RS485 serial connection.
Automatic flow and rate detection
Using automatic data flow directional control technology, the cable automatically manages transmission direction and detects serial speeds ranging from 300 bps to 921600 bps.
Multi-drop bus capacity
Each converter supports connecting up to 32 RS422 or RS485 devices simultaneously on a shared bus network.
Integrated surge and ESD protection
To protect connected hardware from electrical faults, the interface includes 600W surge protection alongside plus/minus 15kV ESD protection.
Broad operating system support
The converter is compatible with Linux, Mac, WinCE, and Windows systems ranging from Windows 98 to Windows 7. It communicates reliably with microcontrollers, CCTV systems, attendance devices, and automated machinery.
Included accessories and cable dimensions
The 1.2 m cable comes supplied with a DB9 to 5-pin terminal block adapter, a driver CD, and a user manual for easy field wiring.
