Description

The Ultra-Compact ToF Laser Ranging Sensor provides precise distance measurements up to 7.8 metres using direct time-of-flight technology, all within a miniature 1-gram package. Compatible with Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi via UART and I2C, it is an ideal solution for hobbyists, students, and engineers building weight-sensitive drones and robotics.

Ultra-lightweight micro design

Weighing just 1g and measuring 19.0 x 12.0 x 10.3mm, this sensor integrates directly into micro-drones, wearable devices, and robotic joints. The tiny form factor eliminates bulky optical assemblies while preserving payload capacity and agility in space-critical builds.

Fast 50Hz dynamic measurement

A 50Hz refresh rate delivers real-time distance updates essential for rapid obstacle detection and conveyor monitoring. The narrow 2-3° field of view minimises background noise and peripheral interference across its 0.02m to 7.8m operating range.

Direct sunlight resistance

Engineered with 100,000 lux ambient light resistance and 940nm laser pulses, the unit operates reliably in full sunlight with typical ±4cm accuracy. Internal filtering algorithms eliminate environmental noise for steady tracking in demanding indoor and outdoor conditions.

Microcontroller interfacing and wiring

The module operates from 4.3V to 5.2V DC and supports UART, I2C, and IO interfaces for straightforward pairing with development boards. Please note that the included wiring harness designates red for GND and black for VCC, so check power connections carefully before powering up.

Broad robotic and industrial use

The sensor is suited for real-time drone altitude hold, AGV dynamic path planning, and parking flow detection. It is equally effective in factory automation tasks, including material level measurement and high-speed object counting.
