Description

The TOF Sense Laser Range Sensor is a compact, high-precision distance-measuring module with a detection range spanning 1cm to 5m. Ideal for hobbyists, students, and engineers, it suits applications such as drone altitude hold, robotic obstacle avoidance, and precision proximity sensing.

Accurate long-range detection

Using Time of Flight technology, this sensor delivers a 1cm to 5m detection range with 1mm resolution and typical accuracy up to plus-minus 1.5cm. It features a 10Hz data update rate and an adjustable field of view between 15° and 27°.

Multi-sensor cascading support

Equipped with dual identical communication ports, multiple sensors can be daisy-chained together by assigning distinct IDs to read all range data through a single interface. The sensor supports cascading up to 8 units on UART and up to 7 units on CAN bus.

Selectable UART and CAN interfaces

The module provides flexible communication options supporting 3.3V TTL UART at 921600 baud and CAN bus at 1Mbps. It supports both active query modes and continuous data output for straightforward integration with microcontrollers.

Compact and lightweight design

With dimensions of 35.58 x 12 x 8.05mm and a weight of just 2.7g, this sensor integrates effortlessly into space-constrained projects. It operates from a 3.7V to 5.2V supply and consumes approximately 290mW during active long-range detection.
