Description
The TF03 is an industrial-grade solid-state Time-of-Flight (ToF) LiDAR sensor capable of measuring distances up to 180 metres with high accuracy and 100 klux ambient light immunity. Featuring a rugged IP67-rated aluminium casing alongside UART, CAN, and I/O interfaces, it is ideal for engineers, drone builders, and robotics hobbyists creating advanced outdoor detection systems.
Long-range precision detection
The sensor delivers single-point distance measurements from 0.1 m up to 180 m with an accuracy of ±10 cm under 10 m and 1% at greater distances. Built-in compensation algorithms and 100 klux ambient light immunity maintain stable ranging performance in bright outdoor conditions.

Rugged IP67 aluminium housing
Constructed from aluminium alloy and infrared band-pass glass, the sensor achieves an IP67 protection rating for harsh working environments. Despite its industrial build, it remains compact at 44 x 43 x 32 mm and weighs just 89 g.

Versatile interfaces and configuration
Multiple communication options including UART, CAN, and I/O facilitate easy integration with industrial controllers and embedded platforms. Users can configure operational parameters such as measuring frequency, baud rate, trigger mode, and over-range assignment, or update firmware via the integrated BootLoader.
Arduino and Raspberry Pi compatibility
Dedicated software libraries simplify development on popular microcontrollers including Arduino and Raspberry Pi. The module accepts a wide input voltage range of 5 V to 24 V and operates with 3.3 V LVTTL communication logic.

Autonomous and industrial applications
With an adjustable frame rate up to 1000 Hz and a narrow 0.5-degree field of view, this LiDAR is suited for drone altitude hold, terrain following, collision avoidance, and industrial safety alerts.

Operating and handling considerations
The sensor operates between -25°C and 60°C and requires correct supply wiring as it does not include reverse polarity or over-voltage protection. For reliable readings, optical lenses must be kept clean, highly reflective targets like mirrors should be managed carefully, and the unit must not be submerged in water.
