Description

The TF-Luna is a compact, single-point solid-state LiDAR sensor based on the Time-of-Flight (ToF) principle, offering ranging capabilities from 0.2 m up to 8 m. Weighing under 5 g and consuming 0.35 W or less, it is an economical solution ideal for makers, students, and engineers integrating distance sensing into lightweight robotic and IoT projects.

Measuring just 35 x 21.25 x 13.5 mm and weighing less than 5 g, the TF-Luna is built for setups with strict space and payload limits. It operates at a low power consumption of 0.35 W or less while maintaining high measurement stability and sensitivity.

Accurate close-range detection performance

The sensor offers an operating range of 0.2 m to 8 m with a distance resolution of 1 cm and an accuracy of plus or minus 6 cm between 0.2 m and 3 m. It features a 2-degree field of view, an operating frequency of 100 Hz, and 70 klux ambient light resistance.

Target resolution across distance

TF-Luna reliably detects targets with a minimum edge length of 3.5 cm at a distance of 1 m. At its maximum 8 m range, the minimum detectable edge length is 28 cm.

Broad controller compatibility and interfaces

Operating from a 5 V power supply, the sensor provides UART and I2C communication at a 3.3 V logic level. This allows straightforward integration with development boards including Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
