STL-27L 360° DTOF LIDAR Sensor (UART, 25m)

The STL-27L is a compact 360-degree Direct Time-of-Flight (DTOF) LiDAR sensor capable of taking 21,600 measurements per second across a range of up to 25 metres. Communicating over a standard UART interface, it delivers high-precision contour mapping and obstacle detection for robotics and automation projects. It is well-suited to students, makers, and engineers developing autonomous mobile robots, drones, and navigation systems.

Extended 25-metre detection range

The sensor captures environmental data from 0.03 m up to 25 m, allowing autonomous mobile platforms to detect obstacles and navigate large indoor or outdoor spaces effectively.

High-accuracy contour mapping

With an angular resolution of 0.167 degrees at a 10 Hz scanning frequency, the unit achieves an accuracy within 15 mm at close range for crisp point-cloud generation.

ROS1 and ROS2 support

Supplied with software development support for both ROS1 and ROS2, the module integrates smoothly into existing robot navigation and SLAM pipelines.

Ambient light resistance

Engineered with anti-glare filtering rated up to 60 klux, the sensor resists ambient light interference to maintain stable ranging performance in bright conditions.

Compact and lightweight design

Weighing just 45 grams and drawing under 300 mA at 5V, the small-footprint sensor integrates easily into payload-sensitive drones and compact service robots.

Long-life brushless motor

A coaxial brushless drive unit provides quiet, stable 360-degree rotation with an operating lifespan rated up to 10,000 hours.

Class 1 eye-safe laser

The module uses an FDA Class 1 eye-safe laser source, ensuring safe operation in domestic, educational, and commercial environments.
