Description

The SRF10 Ultrasonic Range Finder Module is a compact sonar distance measurement board capable of detecting targets from 3 cm up to 6 m via standard I2C communication. Featuring dual 40 kHz transducers and onboard signal processing, it offloads timing calculations from your host controller. It is ideal for makers, students, and robotics enthusiasts building obstacle avoidance and autonomous navigation systems.

Extended 3 cm to 6 m detection

Dual 40 kHz acoustic transducers provide stable sonar ranging across a broad span from 3 cm up to 6 m. This wide coverage handles both near-field obstacle detection and long-range environmental mapping on a single sensor.

Onboard signal processing over I2C

The module fully handles ultrasonic burst generation and echo timing, freeing the host microcontroller from time-critical calculations. Distance data is delivered directly over the I2C bus in microseconds, millimetres, or inches.

Adjustable 16-step analogue gain

Variable analogue gain can be set from 40 to 700 across 16 steps to fine-tune echo detection. This allows the sensor to adapt to various acoustic conditions and surface reflections.

Compact low-power footprint

Operating at 5V, the unit draws a typical current of 15mA and just 3mA in standby. Measuring 32mm by 15mm by 10mm, it fits easily into space-constrained mobile robots and embedded builds.

Versatile robotics applications

Reliable ranging performance makes this module suitable for autonomous vehicle navigation, smart automation systems, and experimental measurement platforms. It integrates smoothly into educational electronics projects and prototype development.
