The Solar Power Manager 5V is a compact, high-efficiency solar power management module tailored for 5V solar panels and 3.7V lithium batteries. Equipped with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and comprehensive safety protections, it is ideal for makers, students, and engineers building renewable energy and IoT projects.
Board overview and interface layout
The module features dedicated connections for 4.5V to 6V solar input, USB charging input, a 3.7V single-cell lithium battery, and regulated 5V 1A USB and pin header outputs. Its compact 33.0mm by 63.0mm footprint simplifies integration into embedded IoT and outdoor setups.

System connection and charging options
The board supports dual charging modes via solar panel or USB input with up to 900mA maximum charging current. It utilizes a three-phase charging cycle comprising trickle, constant current, and constant voltage modes to safely charge 3.7V Li-polymer or Li-ion batteries.

MPPT efficiency and regulated output
Powered by the CN3165 IC, the module uses a constant voltage MPPT algorithm to maximise the energy harvested from 5V solar panels within 10W. It delivers an ON/OFF controllable 5V 1A regulated output with up to 86% power supply efficiency at 50% load.

Comprehensive hardware protection features
Integrated safety measures include over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, and reverse-connection protection on the battery input. The solar input includes reverse-connection protection, while the 5V and USB outputs feature short-circuit, over-current, and over-heat safeguards alongside an ESD-protected USB shell.
