Description

The RS485 Industrial Water Quality Turbidity Sensor provides accurate, continuous liquid clarity measurement across a 0 to 1000 NTU range. Designed with an IP68 waterproof housing and standard Modbus-RTU communication, it is well suited for environmental monitoring, industrial wastewater systems, and water treatment research.

The sensor utilizes a 90-degree light scattering principle with an infrared LED and fibre optic light path. An integrated filtering algorithm resists external light interference, delivering reliable readings with 0.1 NTU resolution and ±5% full-scale accuracy.

Modbus-RTU output with temperature compensation

Equipped with an RS485 interface running standard Modbus-RTU protocol, the unit connects directly to development boards, PLCs, and LoRaWAN nodes. Built-in automatic temperature compensation from 0°C to 60°C ensures consistent measurement stability in shifting field conditions.

IP68 waterproof submersible housing

The compact, corrosion-resistant plastic housing carries an IP68 waterproof rating and 0.6 MPa pressure resistance for long-term immersion. It arrives factory-calibrated and supports two-point register-based calibration for ongoing routine maintenance.

Installation and electrical guidelines

To prevent optical reflection errors, maintain a 5 cm wall clearance and a 7 cm obstacle-free zone directly below the probe while avoiding air bubbles. The unit operates on a 10 to 30V DC supply and requires host polling intervals above 200 ms to avoid bus collisions.

Versatile water monitoring applications

This probe is suited for municipal drinking water verification, wastewater filtration automation, and lake or river IoT telemetry buoys. It includes a 5-metre connection cable for straightforward deployment across laboratory, educational, and industrial setups.
