Description
This industrial-grade 4-in-1 soil sensor measures moisture, temperature, pH, and electrical conductivity (EC) through a single rugged probe. Operating over a wide 5 to 30V DC supply with MODBUS-RTU via RS485, it is well suited for students, makers, and agritech developers building precision agriculture, greenhouse automation, and environmental monitoring projects.
Four-in-one environmental parameter measurement
The sensor consolidates moisture, temperature, pH, and electrical conductivity measurement into a single unit. It detects soil moisture across 0 to 100 percent, temperatures from -40 to 80 degrees Celsius, electrical conductivity up to 20000 microsiemens per centimetre, and soil acidity from 3 to 9 pH.
RS485 Modbus and Arduino compatibility
Featuring RS485 communication using the standard MODBUS-RTU protocol, the sensor connects easily to an Arduino UNO paired with a TTL to RS485 expansion board. It operates on a 5 to 30V DC power supply with a low power consumption of 0.5W at 24V.

Corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel probe
The probe is manufactured from 316 stainless steel to deliver resistance against rust, salt-alkali corrosion, and long-term electrolysis. This enables the device to be buried directly in soil or submerged in water for long-term continuous measurement.

IP68 resin-sealed enclosure
The housing is vacuum-filled and sealed with black flame-retardant epoxy resin, providing an IP68 protection rating against moisture and dust ingress. It is rated for operating ambient temperatures between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius and comes equipped with a 2-metre connection cable.
Automatic temperature compensation for salinity and pH
Integrated temperature compensation over a 0 to 50 degrees Celsius range maintains measurement accuracy for electrical conductivity regardless of ambient soil temperature shifts. This allows precise tracking of soil salinity and acid-alkaline levels to evaluate soil fertility and plant nutrient uptake.

Broad smart agriculture applications
The sensor is suited for greenhouse farming, precision automated irrigation, floriculture, pasture management, grain storage, and rapid soil testing. Its compact 123 by 45 by 15 millimetre form factor allows for unobtrusive deployment across diverse soil types.
