RPLiDAR S2E - ToF LiDAR 360° Laser Range Scanner (30m, 12V, Ethernet UDP, IP65)

The RPLiDAR S2E is an industrial-grade 360-degree Direct Time-of-Flight laser range scanner featuring an IP65-rated housing and Ethernet UDP connectivity. Capable of scanning up to 30 metres at 32,000 samples per second, it is designed for autonomous mobile robots, commercial AGVs, and outdoor mapping systems.

Direct time-of-flight ranging technology

Using SLAMTEC Direct Time-of-Flight technology, the sensor maintains consistent ranging resolution across its entire scanning radius. It reliably measures distances against challenging surfaces, including dark objects, high-reflectivity mirrors, and transparent glass.

Extended 30-metre measuring radius

The scanner offers a measuring range of up to 30 metres for white targets and up to 10 metres for black targets. This wide coverage suits the navigation requirements of large commercial environments such as warehouses, shopping centres, and office parks.

High-speed 32 kHz sampling rate

An optical measurement engine collects up to 32,000 range points per second at a 10 Hz scanning frequency. This high sample density enables fast mapping and precise environmental perception with an angular resolution of 0.12 degrees.

Outdoor sunlight resistance

The sensor is engineered to resist ambient light interference up to 80,000 Lux. This allows reliable obstacle detection and mapping in direct outdoor sunlight as well as standard indoor lighting.

Compact low-profile enclosure

Measuring 77 x 77 x 38.5 mm with a scanning optical area height of only 18 mm, the 190 g module embeds easily into compact robotic chassis. It meets IEC-60825 Class 1 laser safety standards for safe operation around people.

Ethernet UDP and serial connectivity

Equipped with an RJ45 Ethernet interface supporting UDP communication at 1 Mbps, the unit also supports serial communication workflows. It operates on a wide input voltage range from 9 V to 28 V, with a standard 12 V operating draw of 200 mA.

IP65-rated industrial protection

A sealed enclosure provides IP65 protection against dust and water ingress, shielding internal optical and mechanical components from external interference. It delivers dependable performance in operating temperatures ranging from -10°C to 50°C.
