Description
The RPLiDAR C1 is a compact 360-degree Direct Time of Flight (DTOF) laser range scanner engineered for accurate positioning, mapping, and obstacle avoidance. Featuring a 12-metre range, 5 kHz sample rate, and IP54 environmental protection, it is an ideal sensing solution for robotics students, makers, and commercial developers.
High-definition DTOF laser scanning
Using SLAMTEC Direct Time of Flight ranging, the RPLiDAR C1 samples at 5000 times per second with a typical angular resolution of 0.72 degrees. It excels at detecting small and nearby targets while providing strong anti-interference and anti-adhesion capabilities.

Multidimensional 2.5D perception data
Powered by SL-DTOF technology, the scanner captures precise coordinate positions alongside target surface reflectivity data. This delivers 2.5D multidimensional information to provide richer reference points for navigation algorithms.

Wide 12-metre detection range
The sensor measures distances from as close as 0.05 metres up to 12 metres on white objects and 6 metres on black objects. With an accuracy of ±30 mm and 15 mm resolution, it handles varied obstacle avoidance scenarios with ease.

Compact and low-vibration enclosure
Weighing only 110 grams and rated at IP54, the unit is engineered for low noise and minimal vibration during operation. It connects via a TTL UART interface at 460800 baud, making physical and electrical integration straightforward.

SLAMTEC ecosystem compatibility
The C1 maintains full compatibility with SLAMTEC software and hardware interfaces. This allows effortless migration and integration for projects transitioning from existing SLAMTEC LiDAR units.

Broad ROS and cross-platform support
Software development kits are provided for x86 Windows, x86 Linux, and ARM Linux platforms. Full support for both ROS and ROS2 enables rapid prototyping of SLAM, mapping, and autonomous navigation pipelines.

Class 1 eye-safe laser standard
The device utilises a modulated pulse, low-power infrared laser meeting IEC-60825 Class 1 eye safety requirements. It operates safely in ambient light conditions up to 40000 lux across a temperature range of -10 to 40 degrees Celsius.
