RGB LCD Backlight Module

The RGB LCD Backlight Module is a versatile illumination panel designed to produce customisable multi-colour lighting for electronics projects. Capable of generating up to 16 million colours, it is well suited for makers, students, and hobbyists seeking vibrant display backlighting or distinct status indicators.

Full-colour spectrum illumination

The panel uses the standard RGB colour model across red, green, and blue channels to produce up to 16 million colours. This provides broad colour blending across virtually the entire range of human visual perception.

Common anode pinout configuration

Built with an integrated common anode diode, the module is straightforward to wire into control circuits. With the black edge at the pins facing upwards, the pins from left to right connect to red, power positive, green, and blue.

Display backlighting and indicator use

While engineered as the internal backlight component for Gravity I2C 16x2 LCD screens, this board can also be used independently. It serves reliably as a dedicated multi-colour LED status panel or custom indicator.

Electrical ratings and compact form factor

The module measures 7.32 x 1.85 x 0.28 cm and operates within a forward voltage range of 3.0V to 3.2V with a 5V reverse voltage tolerance. It features a maximum power consumption limit of 75mW and functions in operating temperatures from -40°C to 80°C.
