Description
The RDK X5 Stereo AI Vision Camera Module is a dual-sensor binocular depth camera engineered specifically for the RDK X5 development board. It leverages BPU hardware acceleration to provide high-speed depth perception and wide-angle spatial awareness. This module is ideal for robotics students, makers, and developers building autonomous navigation, SLAM, and 3D computer vision systems.
Seamless RDK X5 integration
Designed specifically for the RDK X5 development board, the module interfaces via dual MIPI CSI-2 connections for high-throughput video transfer. It provides a direct hardware platform for binocular depth perception and AI vision pipelines.

BPU-accelerated depth computation
Complex binocular depth algorithms are offloaded directly to the RDK X5 Brain Processing Unit (BPU). This dedicated hardware acceleration delivers responsive, real-time depth mapping without overloading the main processor during intensive robotic tasks.

Ultra-wide optical coverage
The dual-lens array features an expansive ultra-wide field of view with an 80 mm baseline and F2.0 aperture. This wide perspective captures comprehensive environmental data from a single mounting point to minimise blind spots.
Compact module dimensions
The module is built with a compact physical footprint and standard mounting points for easy integration into robotic chassis and vision rigs. It is rated for stable operation across temperatures ranging from -20 °C to 60 °C.

Directional ribbon cable connection
The camera module is supplied with an interface ribbon cable. When using the black cable variant, ensure the end marked CAM is connected to the camera and the end marked RDK is attached to the development board.
High-speed global shutter imaging
Equipped with dual SC132GS global shutter sensors supporting up to 1280x1080 at 120 FPS, the unit captures fast-moving scenes without rolling shutter distortion. The module supports external trigger synchronisation and is compatible with external IR fill lights for low-light environments.

Versatile robotic applications
This stereo vision unit is suited for visual SLAM, autonomous obstacle avoidance, 3D object scanning, and real-time body or gesture tracking.
