Description
The Raspberry Pi Debug Probe Kit is an all-in-one USB to serial debug and UART bridge powered by the RP2040 microcontroller. It provides a solderless, plug-and-play solution for makers, students, and embedded engineers debugging Raspberry Pi Pico boards and other microcontrollers.
All-in-one serial debug bridge
Powered by Raspberry Pi's RP2040 chip, the probe acts as both a two-wire serial debug bridge and a USB to UART bridge in a compact 32 x 22 mm form factor. It facilitates quick, solderless debugging and serial data transfer over a micro-USB connection.
Dual SWD and UART interfaces
The board features dedicated 3-pin SWD and 3-pin UART ports operating at 3.3V logic. It functions reliably within a temperature range of -20°C to +70°C for embedded bug hunting and serial communication.
Broad CMSIS-DAP tool support
By providing standard CMSIS-DAP interfaces over USB, the probe works directly with OpenOCD and other compliant development tools. It can debug any Arm-based microcontroller equipped with a 3.3V SWD port or serve as a standalone USB-to-UART bridge.
Cross-platform host compatibility
The Debug Probe connects seamlessly to Windows, Mac, and Linux host systems. This provides a uniform debugging experience across standard personal computers and development environments.

Upgradable open-source firmware
Based on Raspberry Pi Pico hardware, the unit runs open-source Raspberry Pi Picoprobe software. Firmware updates are installed using the standard Pico update method, allowing quick maintenance and custom code deployment.

Complete kit with cables and enclosure
The package includes the debug probe inside a protective transparent case, a micro-USB cable, and three JST-SH debugging cables. This provides all the necessary cabling for direct, hassle-free wiring to a Raspberry Pi Pico.
