Description
The Raspberry Pi 5 Single Board Computer with 8GB RAM delivers a major leap in processing capability, driven by a 2.4GHz 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 CPU. Designed for makers, students, educators, and industrial developers, it provides desktop-grade speed for embedded systems, smart home controllers, and robotics projects.
Next-generation processing power
The 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor operates at 2.4GHz with cryptography extensions, 512KB per-core L2 caches, and a 2MB shared L3 cache, delivering two to three times the CPU performance of Raspberry Pi 4. It comes equipped with 8GB of high-speed LPDDR4X-4267 SDRAM to handle memory-intensive workloads.
Upgraded graphics and dual 4K output
An 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU brings improved graphics performance with support for Vulkan 1.2, OpenGL ES 3.1, and 4Kp60 HEVC decoding. It supports dual 4Kp60 HDMI display outputs with HDR for crisp multi-monitor setups and multimedia stations.
In-house RP1 southbridge architecture
Raspberry Pi's custom RP1 southbridge controls the bulk of the I/O capabilities, more than doubling aggregate USB bandwidth across two simultaneous 5Gbps USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Peak microSD card performance is also doubled thanks to high-speed SDR104 mode support.
Dual four-lane MIPI camera and display support
Two four-lane 1.5Gbps MIPI transceivers triple overall bandwidth compared to earlier models and support any combination of up to two cameras or displays. A rearchitected Image Signal Processor delivers advanced imaging support for vision and remote monitoring applications.
Board dimensions and physical layout
The compact single-board format integrates mounting points, an onboard power button, and an external battery-powered real-time clock. Exact board dimensions and component placements are illustrated in the mechanical diagram.

Comprehensive interface layout
The board features Gigabit Ethernet with PoE+ capability, a single-lane PCIe 2.0 connector for high-bandwidth add-ons, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, and the standard 40-pin GPIO header. Power is supplied via a 5V/5A USB-C port with Power Delivery support.
