Description
The RAMPS 1.6 Mega Shield is an upgraded controller board designed for RepRap 3D printers and DIY CNC projects. It provides up to 270W of power handling with improved thermal dissipation and support for modular stepper drivers. It is an ideal choice for makers, students, and hobbyists building or servicing custom 3D printers.
Enhanced power and thermal design
This board provides power handling up to 270W, utilizing a larger bed MOSFET and a dedicated heatsink over the MOSFETs. It features a pair of sturdy screw terminals for power input alongside surface-mounted fuses and flush-mounted MOSFETs.
Driver and display support
The shield is designed to support modular stepper motor drivers including the A4988 and DRV8825. It also provides interface compatibility for standard 12864 LCD, 2004 LCD, and TFT3.5 screens.
Updated board layout
Building on previous iterations, the layout swaps the positions of the D1 and D2 diodes, placing diode D1 closest to fuse F2. The compact board measures 101.5mm by 60.5mm for easy integration into printer control enclosures.
