Description
The RainbowLink V2 is a versatile 4-channel USB-to-serial converter and debugging workstation equipped with built-in multi-voltage power outputs and industrial isolation. It combines RS485, RS232, and dual TTL interfaces into one compact unit, replacing multiple dongles and external bench supplies. It is ideal for field engineers, IoT developers, robotics hobbyists, and educators working with industrial hardware and microcontrollers.
Four independent communication channels
The interface combines one isolated RS485 channel, one isolated RS232 channel, and two TTL UART channels that can all operate simultaneously. This allows direct monitoring of industrial PLCs, legacy hardware, GPS modules, and microcontrollers over a single USB Type-C connection.
Integrated portable power supply
An onboard boost converter steps up standard 5V USB input into 12V at 800mA, 5V at 2A, and 3.3V at 200mA power rails. This allows field testing and powering of 12V industrial sensors, water level meters, and automation gear directly from a laptop without an external power adapter.
Full signal and power isolation
The RS485 and RS232 ports feature full signal and power isolation to protect connected computers from high-voltage surges, ground loops, and electrical noise. This industrial-grade protection ensures safe debugging when interfacing with high-power equipment and harsh factory environments.
Tool-free wiring and smart port naming
Lever-type spring terminals accept 12 to 22 AWG wire for quick, tool-free field wiring. Dedicated drivers also assign clear COM port identifiers in your operating system device manager, making it simple to select the correct interface immediately.
Compact enclosure and broad OS compatibility
Housed in a durable 77mm by 57mm by 21mm polycarbonate case, the device supports baud rates ranging from 2400bps to 128000bps. It offers plug-and-play support across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms, including Raspberry Pi.
