PTC Heating Element - 5V 40°C

This 5V 40-60°C ceramic PTC heating element provides self-regulating, constant-temperature warmth without requiring external controllers or temperature sensors. Housed in a compact aluminium tube, it is an ideal solution for makers and engineers designing unattended anti-freeze systems, incubators, or enclosure dehumidifiers.

Automatic self-regulating temperature

Using a positive temperature coefficient ceramic chip, this element automatically maintains a surface temperature between 40°C and 60°C without needing thermocouples or feedback circuitry. The power adjusts automatically during operation, drawing higher power when heat dissipation is rapid.

Flexible 5V power compatibility

The heating element runs on 5V AC or DC supplies regardless of polarity, drawing between 2W and 3W. To ensure normal heat generation, the chosen power supply capacity must be greater than the maximum power dissipation of the element.

Durable aluminium encapsulation

Measuring 25 x 20 x 5 mm, the heater features an insulated aluminium tube housing for high heat transfer and safe, long-term electrification. It is fitted with high-temperature resistant silicone wires for reliable electrical connections.

Anti-freeze and dehumidification applications

This heater is suitable for unattended small equipment, providing circuit board dehumidification, instrument preheating, and freeze protection for solenoid valves or inkjet printer nozzles. It is also well suited for custom projects like incubators, holding cabinets, and hand warmers.

Installation and safety precautions

When combining multiple elements, connect them in parallel side by side and never overlap them. The element must never be submerged in water, subjected to percussion or punching, or operated in flammable and explosive environments.
