PTC Heating Element - 5V 100°C

The PTC Heating Element (5V 100°C) is a compact, self-regulating ceramic heater designed to maintain a steady 100°C surface temperature without external controllers or thermal sensors. Encapsulated in an insulated aluminium casing with high-temperature silicone wires, it is ideal for makers, hobbyists, and engineers building automated anti-freeze systems, warmers, or enclosure dehumidifiers.

Automatic constant temperature operation

Utilising Positive Temperature Coefficient ceramic technology, this element automatically maintains a surface temperature of 100°C (±10°C) without requiring thermocouples or external thermostat controllers. The internal chip dynamically adjusts its power draw based on heat dissipation to sustain a stable working temperature.

Broad anti-freeze and dehumidification uses

This heating block is suited for instrument preheating, solenoid valve and inkjet nozzle anti-freezing, and continuous circuit board dehumidification in unattended equipment. It is also suitable for bespoke maker projects such as incubators, electronic thermos flasks, and hand warmers.

Insulated aluminium construction

Measuring 25 x 20 x 5 mm, the module is housed in an insulated aluminium tube enclosure and pre-wired with high-temperature resistant silicone leads. The integrated PTC chip is engineered for continuous electrification over extended periods.

Flexible 5V power requirements

The element operates on 5V AC or DC supplies regardless of polarity, drawing under 5W of power at stable state. Ensure your power supply, battery, or transformer has sufficient capacity to exceed the heater's peak dissipation power during start-up.

Wiring and safety guidelines

When combining multiple elements, connect them in parallel and mount them side-by-side rather than overlapping. This component must never be submerged in water, subjected to mechanical impacts, or operated in flammable and explosive environments.
