Description
The Prototyping Shield for Arduino provides a versatile prototyping workspace that mounts directly onto your Arduino board. Equipped with dedicated through-hole and surface-mount soldering pads alongside a plug-in mini breadboard, it allows you to build neat, custom circuits quickly. It is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers developing and testing new electronics projects.
Versatile DIP and SOIC prototyping areas
The board features a standard DIP prototyping area suitable for soldering through-hole integrated circuits, switches, LEDs, and passive components. A dedicated surface-mount footprint located above the USB connector supports up to 14-pin SOIC chips in narrow, medium, or wide packages.

Colour-coded pin headers
The shield features colour-coded header sockets to help you identify pin functions at a glance. Power pins are marked in red, ground pins in black, digital I/O pins in green, and analogue inputs in blue.

Included mini solderless breadboard
A white mini breadboard is supplied and can be stuck directly onto the shield's prototyping area. This allows you to construct and modify temporary circuits without soldering while keeping your assembly compact.
On-board buttons and power rails
A top-mounted reset button allows for convenient debugging while the shield is stacked. The board also includes an extra 6mm push button, an ICSP header, and multiple +5V and ground power distribution rails.
Package contents
The kit includes one Prototyping Shield for Arduino and one self-adhesive white mini-breadboard.
