PiTray mini for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4

The PiTray mini is a compact, Model B-sized carrier board designed for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4. It provides an efficient and budget-friendly solution for building computing clusters, home theatre PCs, and embedded maker projects.

Raspberry Pi Model B form factor

Sharing the same 85 mm by 56 mm outline and mounting holes as a standard Raspberry Pi Model B, the board stacks seamlessly into existing cluster setups. It provides native USB 2.0, a standard HDMI 2.0 port, and Gigabit Ethernet networking.

Streamlined board overview

The layout features standard 40-pin HAT connectors, a dedicated RUN reset button, and red power and green activity LEDs. Non-essential cluster interfaces like DSI, CSI, and USB 3.0 hubs are omitted to reduce power consumption and simplify the footprint.

Compact layout and dimensions

Measuring 85 mm by 56 mm, the board incorporates four CM4 corner alignment marks and dual module mounting holes to keep the Compute Module 4 securely seated. It operates from a standard 5V power input via its USB Type-C connector.

Full CM4 variant compatibility

The board works with all Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 variations, including wireless, non-wireless, eMMC, and Lite models. A built-in micro SD card socket provides required storage support when running CM4 Lite boards.

Built-in eMMC boot switch

An integrated boot mode switch lets you toggle easily between programming mode and normal operation without bridging pins manually. The USB Type-C interface provides power and allows direct flashing of operating system images to eMMC storage.
