Description
The PICAXE Instant Robot Shield is an expansion board designed to rapidly transform a PICAXE-28X2 or Arduino controller into a fully functional mobile robot. Simply mount the shield onto your controller and connect your drive motors, sensors, and servos to get a project running in minutes. It is an ideal robotics platform for learners, educators, and hobbyists building autonomous or remote-controlled vehicles.
Rapid robotic prototyping
The Instant Robot Shield easily pushes directly onto an Arduino or PICAXE-28X2 controller board. It simplifies the build process so you can attach motors, servos, and input sensors without complex breadboarding.
Motor and actuator outputs
The shield features two 1A motor channels with optional PWM speed control, alongside eight servo or digital output channels. It also includes two 500mA buffered outputs designed for peripheral components such as buzzers.
Flexible inputs and power
There are six analogue or digital input channels provided with optional on-board 10k pull-down resistors for sensor interfacing. Power can be supplied either directly through the shield base or via a dedicated external battery pack.
