Description

This non-contact capacitive liquid level sensor detects fluids through non-metallic containers such as plastic, glass, and ceramic without touching the liquid. Featuring an IP65 waterproof rating and 5V to 12V DC operation, it is ideal for makers, students, and hobbyists building automated watering systems, smart aquariums, and tank level monitors.

Non-invasive and hygienic sensing

Because the sensor mounts to the exterior of the container, it never contacts the fluid inside, preventing contamination and eliminating corrosion from harsh chemicals. It reliably handles high-temperature liquids up to 105°C and features an IP65 waterproof housing for durability.

Broad container compatibility

The sensor penetrates non-metallic container walls up to 20 mm thick across flat, curved, or cylindrical profiles. It can be mounted to tanks or fastened around pipes with an outer diameter of 11 mm or greater.

Adjustable sensitivity calibration

Sensitivity can be tuned using the onboard trimmer to suit different container materials and wall thicknesses. Its solid-state electronic design provides high stability and strong resistance to power frequency and common-mode electromagnetic noise.

Onboard real-time status indicator

An integrated status LED illuminates instantly when the fluid reaches the detection threshold. This provides immediate visual feedback to streamline physical positioning, calibration, and live monitoring.

Straightforward microcontroller integration

Operating on a wide 5V to 12V DC supply, the sensor outputs a clean digital signal with a 500 ms response time and ±1.5 mm accuracy. It connects easily to Arduino and compatible microcontrollers using the provided 4-pin adapter board.

The kit includes the non-contact capacitive sensor, a 4-pin adapter, a tuning screwdriver, and a cable tie for pipe mounting. It is ready for projects ranging from automatic pet waterers and hydroponic systems to laboratory fluid monitors.
