Non-contact Capacitive Liquid Level Sensor for Tube OD≤10mm

The Non-contact Capacitive Liquid Level Sensor detects fluid levels in non-metallic tubing with an outer diameter of 10 mm or less without making physical contact with the liquid. Operating on a 5 to 24 V supply, it delivers real-time digital switch output to Arduino and other microcontrollers. It is ideal for makers, students, and hobbyists building automated dispensing rigs, perfusion systems, and small pipe monitoring projects.

Non-invasive tube detection

Designed for non-metal pipes with an outer diameter of up to 10 mm, this sensor monitors liquid levels externally through closed tubing. Because it does not touch the liquid, it remains unaffected by impurities or corrosive chemicals such as strong acids and alkalis.

Capacitive induction principle

The sensor detects liquid presence by coupling the fluid parasitic capacitance with static ground capacitance. A high-speed signal processing IC converts this capacitance variation into an electrical signal and triggers an output when the threshold is exceeded.

Microcontroller interfacing

With a wide 5 to 24 V power supply range, the sensor provides a digital switch output with a 500 ms response time. The included 4-pin sensor adaptor allows straightforward digital signal collection for Arduino and other development boards.

Adjustable sensitivity and visual indicator

The unit features an integrated status indicator for real-time visual feedback. Sensitivity can be fine-tuned to accommodate various fluids while maintaining a liquid level detection accuracy of within 1.5 mm.

Durable IP65 construction

Housed in tough ABS plastic, the sensor carries an IP65 waterproof rating for reliable operation in wet environments. It is rated for operating temperatures between -5 and 105 degrees Celsius.
