Description
The Mini Photoresistor is an eco-friendly light sensor designed for responsive electronics and interactive maker projects. Unlike traditional CdS cells, it is manufactured without cadmium or lead, making it a safe choice for classrooms, students, and hobbyists. It changes its electrical resistance based on light exposure to enable simple optical sensing.
Cadmium-free eco-friendly design
Unlike conventional CdS components, this photoresistor is built from environmentally friendly materials free from lead and cadmium. This makes it safer for educational and prototyping environments without sacrificing sensing capability.
Light-responsive electrical resistance
The sensor dynamically adjusts its resistance depending on the intensity of light falling on its surface. This makes it ideal for ambient light detection, automated nightlights, and optical triggers.
Compact 5mm form factor
Featuring a 5mm (0.2 inch) head diameter, this mini sensor easily integrates into breadboards, perfboards, and compact electronic enclosures.
5V low-power rating
Designed to operate at 5V with a low power consumption of just 70mW, the component interfaces smoothly with standard 5V microcontrollers and logic circuits.
Broad thermal operating range
Engineered for durability, the unit operates reliably between -25°C and +85°C, supports storage from -40°C to +100°C, and tolerates soldering temperatures up to 260°C.
