Description
The micro:GamePad V4.0 is a dedicated handheld controller designed for the BBC micro:bit, offering wireless control for robotics and gaming projects. It is ideal for students, educators, and makers looking to remotely control robots such as the micro:Maqueen with precision.
High-precision multi-axis joystick
The controller features a programmable joystick with two-axis analogue input on pins P1 and P2, plus a digital Z-axis switch on pin P8. This configuration allows simultaneous control over both the speed and direction of compatible robotic platforms like the Maqueen.
Seven programmable buttons
Equipped with up to seven programmable keys mapped to pins A, B, P13, P14, P15, P16, and P8. This wide array of inputs provides extensive flexibility for custom gaming controls and robot commands.
Integrated vibration and LED output
An onboard vibration motor and LED indicator share pin P12 to deliver instant physical and visual feedback during operation. These outputs can be programmed to trigger based on game events or remote telemetry.
Convenient onboard battery holder
The V4.0 design incorporates the battery holder directly onto the PCB, operating on 3V DC via two AAA batteries. This eliminates dangling external battery packs for a cleaner and more reliable handheld setup.
Protective acrylic casing
Layered top and bottom acrylic plates protect the underlying circuitry while providing a comfortable, secure grip. The entire unit measures 148 by 57 mm, making it compact and easy to handle.
