The micro:bit Expansion Board for Boson is an add-on interface board that connects directly to a micro:bit via its edge connector. It provides a secure, fool-proof alternative to crocodile clips, making it ideal for students, teachers, and makers building interactive electronics and robotics projects.

Direct edge connector interface

The expansion board slots straight onto the micro:bit edge connector without requiring messy crocodile clips. This creates a stable and beginner-friendly platform for classroom learning and prototyping.

Six fool-proof 3-pin ports

Equipped with six 3-pin PH2.0 sockets, the board connects seamlessly to DFRobot Boson and Gravity modular electronic blocks. These ports support a vast range of digital and analogue sensors and actuators for sound, light, and motion.

Dedicated HuskyLens and I2C expansion

The board includes a dedicated interface for the Gravity HuskyLens AI camera alongside a standard I2C connection. These additional ports simplify the integration of computer vision and multi-sensor configurations.

External power supply and switch

An onboard micro-USB port provides 5V external power with an overall maximum current of 500mA to reliably drive demanding peripherals. A built-in on-off switch controls the power, delivering 3.3V to the PH2.0 ports and 5V to the HuskyLens connector.

Measuring 80 by 70 mm and weighing 48 g, the board operates within a temperature range of 0 to 85 degrees Celsius. The package includes one expansion board and six 200 mm fool-proof PH2.0 connection cables.
