Magnetic Switch

The Magnetic Switch is a compact, non-contact position-sensing kit consisting of an inducting reed switch and a matching magnetic trigger. It is ideal for makers, hobbyists, and educators building smart home automation, anti-theft alarms, and position-limiting controls.

Magnetic proximity sensing mechanism

The module comprises an inducting end with an enclosed reed switch and an external encased magnet trigger. When the distance between the two components is under 1cm, the reed switch connects to reliably detect physical movement and travel limits.

Wide operating voltage range

The switch operates across a broad power range of 0 to 380V AC/DC with a 1W contact rating and a load current of 50mA or less. It supports switching frequencies up to 200Hz and provides 1000V AC withstand voltage protection.

Weatherproof IP67 rated enclosure

Encased in robust PBT and ABS plastics, the sensor is rated to IP67 ingress protection for harsh indoor and outdoor environments. It functions reliably across an operating temperature range of -10 to 70 degrees Celsius.

Compact form and package contents

Measuring just 6 by 14 by 23mm, this sensor easily fits into tight spaces such as doors, windows, and electric bike frames. Each package includes one magnetic switch with integrated cabling and one separate trigger magnet.
