M1W Dock AI Development Kit

The M1W Dock AI Development Kit is an edge artificial intelligence platform powered by the dual-core 64-bit RISC-V Kendryte K210 processor. Complete with an integrated camera, colour display, and MicroPython support, it provides makers, students, and developers with an accessible route into machine vision and acoustic processing.

Dual-core RISC-V processing core

The board runs on a 64-bit dual-core K210 processor with independent FPUs, 8MB of on-chip SRAM, and an adjustable 400MHz nominal clock speed. It includes built-in hardware acceleration for multiplication, division, and square root operations.

Hardware neural network accelerator

The integrated KPU convolutional neural network accelerator handles operations such as convolution, batch normalisation, activation, and pooling. This allows the board to perform real-time face detection, Tiny YOLOv2 object recognition, and digit classification directly on device.

Integrated camera and colour display

The kit comes bundled with a GC0328 camera module connected over DVP and a 2.4-inch LCD with a 320x240 resolution. This provides an immediate hardware interface for capturing visual data and displaying real-time inferencing outputs.

Acoustic processing and machine hearing

An onboard audio processing unit, built-in microphone, hardware FFT accelerator, and high-speed DAC enable audio pre-processing and voice direction scanning. The kit also supports external microphone array boards for sound localisation and speech recognition.

Wireless connectivity and versatile interfaces

Wireless communication is handled by an onboard ESP8285 Wi-Fi chip, supported by a USB Type-C port for power and debugging. Design flexibility is provided by a TF card slot, dual 3.3V and 1.8V I/O voltage support, and a 72-pin freely mappable programmable I/O array.
