Description
The LPB40B is an industrial-grade direct time-of-flight (DToF) single-point ranging LiDAR sensor offering precise distance measurement from 0.05m up to 40m. Featuring an IP65 enclosure, UART interface, and 100klux ambient light resistance, it suits drone builders, roboticists, and automation developers needing reliable indoor and outdoor telemetry.
Direct time-of-flight ranging technology
Operating on the DToF principle with a 905nm laser, the sensor delivers reliable measurements up to 40m at 90% reflectivity and up to 12m at 10% reflectivity. It provides a ranging resolution of 1.5cm and an overall accuracy of within ±5cm across its entire operating range.

High-speed adjustable sampling frequency
The sensor supports configurable measurement frequencies ranging from 1Hz to 2000Hz, with a default setting of 100Hz. This ultra-fast response rate makes it well suited for high-speed collision avoidance on unmanned aerial vehicles and autonomous mobile robots.

Rugged IP65 industrial enclosure
A coated crown glass lens and IP65-rated housing protect internal components against dust and moisture across temperatures from -40°C to 85°C. The internal circuitry includes built-in safeguards against reverse connection, overvoltage, and excess current.

Compact form factor and UART connectivity
Weighing just 43g, the sensor interfaces directly with microcontrollers and Arduino IO expansion boards via standard UART serial communication. It operates on a 5V supply with an average power consumption of under 130mA.

Versatile detection and monitoring applications
Holding CE, FCC, RoHS, and FDA certifications, the sensor excels in drone altitude hold, vehicle flow monitoring, and outdoor parking inspection. It is equally effective for bulk material monitoring such as granary level sensing and automated gate detection.
