Description
The LoRaWAN Control Terminal (868MHz) is an industrial IoT remote terminal unit engineered for long-range telemetry and automated field control. Equipped with RS485 Modbus, analogue, and digital interfaces alongside an onboard relay, it is ideal for engineers, educators, and makers deploying smart agriculture, building management, or industrial monitoring solutions.
Long-range LoRaWAN connectivity
Operating on the 863 to 870MHz frequency band, the terminal reaches wireless transmission ranges of up to 4km in open environments. It supports standard LoRaWAN Class A and Class C modes via OTAA or ABP, providing seamless compatibility with private gateways and public platforms such as The Things Network.
Versatile data acquisition interfaces
The terminal features an RS485 port supporting Modbus RTU, a 0 to 10V analogue input, and two 5 to 24V optocoupler-isolated digital inputs. This hybrid array allows direct connection to diverse industrial peripherals such as soil probes, weather stations, and flow meters without additional signal adapters.
Integrated relay actuation
A built-in normally open relay rated for 24V DC at 3A and 220V AC at 3A enables direct control of external actuators. This allows the terminal to switch pumps, motorized valves, ventilation fans, and lighting systems based on sensor triggers or remote downlink commands.
Edge logic and offline autonomy
Control rules can be preset locally via a visual configuration interface to trigger automated actions without relying on constant cloud interaction. If the LoRaWAN network connection drops, the unit continues running its local logic routines to ensure uninterrupted site operation.
DFRobot LoRaWAN ecosystem integration
Designed as part of a modular LPWAN series, this unit operates alongside dedicated gateways with embedded MQTT servers, development boards, and multi-platform node modules. The ecosystem provides a cohesive pipeline from laboratory testing to production field deployments.

Industrial enclosure and mounting hardware
Operating on a 12 to 24V DC power supply, the unit measures 89 x 53 x 24mm and functions in temperatures from -10 to 60 degrees Celsius. It includes plug-in terminal blocks, DIN rail clips, mounting lugs, and an external rubber antenna for rapid field installation.
