Description
The LattePanda Mu Evaluation Kit is a complete development platform comprising a micro x86 compute module, standard 3.5-inch Lite Carrier Board, and an active aluminium cooler. Powered by an Intel N100 processor with 8GB LPDDR5 memory and 64GB eMMC storage, it provides hardware engineers, makers, and embedded developers with a high-performance foundation for evaluating interfaces, prototyping custom carrier boards, and deploying compact x86 solutions.
Quad-core Intel N100 processing
The compute module is equipped with an Intel N100 quad-core processor delivering turbo speeds up to 3.4GHz, supported by 8GB of 4800MT/s LPDDR5 RAM with IBECC. It achieves a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 3115 and single-core score of 1217, outperforming legacy Celeron platforms and doubling the CPU performance of the Raspberry Pi 5.
Compact card-sized form factor
Measuring just 69.6mm by 60mm, the module delivers full desktop-class x86 computation within a pocket-sized footprint. Its compact dimensions allow seamless integration into space-constrained embedded systems, smart appliances, and portable equipment.
Adjustable TDP power profiles
Processor thermal design power is adjustable between 6W and 35W to balance processing power and energy consumption. The 6W profile enables low-heat, fanless passive operation, while the 35W mode unleashes maximum compute performance under active cooling.
Extensive interface pinout
The module breakout exposes 9 PCIe 3.0 lanes, up to 4 USB 3.2 ports, 8 USB 2.0 channels, 2 SATA 3.0 ports, and 3 display outputs supporting resolutions up to 4096x2160 at 60Hz. It also provides 64 expandable GPIO pins alongside dedicated UART and I2C lines for comprehensive hardware interfacing.
Broad operating system support
Native x86 architecture ensures out-of-the-box compatibility with standard 64-bit operating systems, including Windows 10, Windows 11, and Ubuntu Linux. This wide software support simplifies driver integration and enables straightforward deployment of existing software stacks.
Open-source carrier design resources
Hardware designers have access to open-source schematic files, carrier board layouts, and reference libraries. These design materials allow development teams to customise carrier boards to exact project specifications while significantly reducing design cycle times.
Standard 3.5-inch lite carrier board
The included 146mm by 102mm carrier board breaks out dual USB 3.2 10Gbps ports, two USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, an M.2 M-key for SSDs, and an M.2 E-key for wireless modules. It features a PCIe 3.0 x4 expansion slot when powered with 12V and supports a wide 12V to 20V DC input, allowing direct power from a 4S lithium battery.
High-efficiency active aluminium cooler
Engineered specifically for the compute module, the included 4000 RPM active cooler features an aluminium alloy heatsink with phase-change thermal interface material. It connects directly via a 4-pin PH2.0 header to provide low-noise, reliable thermal management under demanding workloads.
