Description

The Keyestudio Raspberry Pi L298P Motor Drive Shield is a versatile expansion board designed to control DC motors directly from your single-board computer. It is an excellent choice for South African students, educators, and makers building autonomous robots or smart vehicles.

High-power dual motor driver

Utilising the L298P driver chip, this shield can directly drive two DC motors with a drive current of up to 2A per channel. Eight high-speed Schottky diodes are integrated on the motor output terminals to provide essential protection against back EMF.

Raspberry Pi compatibility and expansion

This shield is fully compatible with various versions of the Raspberry Pi. It breaks out each interface to allow for the simple and convenient connection of external sensors and modules.

Integrated infrared control

An onboard IR receiver is included on the shield, enabling direct communication via infrared remote control. This allows you to easily add wireless control functionality to your mobile robotics projects.

Complete mounting hardware included

To make mounting the shield to your Raspberry Pi straightforward, the package includes four M2.5 by 20mm round-head screws, four double-pass M2.5 by 10mm copper pillars, and four M2.5 nickel-plated nuts.

Electrical and thermal specifications

The dual power H-bridge driver supports a driving input voltage of 4.8V to 24V alongside a 5V logic input. It features a maximum power dissipation of 25W at 75 degrees Celsius and operates within a wide temperature range of -25 to +130 degrees Celsius.
