Description
The Keyestudio 16-Channel Servo Drive Board is an I2C-controlled PWM driver designed for projects requiring multiple moving parts or LED outputs, such as hexapod walkers and complex art installations. It is an ideal expansion board for students, hobbyists, and makers who need to overcome the limited PWM outputs of a standard microcontroller.
Efficient I2C control
Using only two pins, this board controls 16 free-running PWM outputs without tying up your microcontroller's processing power. The built-in clock ensures completely independent operation once configured, unlike traditional drivers that require continuous signals.

Flexible voltage compatibility
This 5V-compliant driver can be safely controlled from a 3.3V microcontroller while driving outputs up to 6V. This makes it ideal for powering standard servos or driving white and blue LEDs with forward voltages of 3.4V and above.

Massive scalability
With six address select pins configurable via solder jumpers, you can chain up to 62 of these breakout boards on a single I2C bus. This allows you to control up to 992 individual PWM outputs from a single microcontroller.

High-resolution PWM output
Each output features 12-bit resolution, providing approximately 4 microsecond resolution at a 60Hz update rate for precise servo control. The PWM frequency is fully adjustable up to approximately 1.6 kHz.

Designed for easy connection
The board features 3-pin connectors arranged in groups of four, allowing you to plug in up to 16 servos simultaneously. It also includes 220-ohm series resistors on all output lines to protect the circuits and simplify LED integration.
Robust power and protection
Power can be supplied via a terminal block with reverse polarity protection, or through the side breakouts. The board also includes an output enable pin for quick shutdowns, a green power-good LED, and a dedicated spot to solder an optional large capacitor on the power line.
