Description
This infrared laser distance sensor delivers millimetre-level accuracy across detection distances up to 80m indoors and 50m outdoors. Ideal for students, makers, and robotics developers, it provides long-range telemetry through a straightforward serial interface. It is suited for autonomous navigation, height monitoring, and material level sensing projects.
Long-range precision detection
The sensor measures distances from 0.05m to 80m indoors and 0.05m to 50m outdoors, with a minimal 0.05m blind zone. It maintains dependable performance with a standard deviation accuracy of ±1.0mm.

Visible laser and narrow FOV
Using a 620 to 690nm Class II visible laser, the sensor produces a focused beam with a spot diameter of 6mm at 10m and 30mm at 50m. This small field of view enables accurate tracking of objects as small as 5x5cm at indoor ranges up to 80m.

Simple UART controller integration
Powered by a 3.3V to 5V DC supply, the module outputs data over standard UART serial. This makes it straightforward to interface with Arduino and other common development boards.

Compact enclosure and fast response
With dimensions of 48 x 42 x 18mm and a weight of approximately 60g, this compact sensor fits neatly into tight mechanical assemblies. It offers single-measurement speeds between 0.05 and 1s, an IP40 rating, and an operating temperature range of -10 to +60°C.
Robotics and monitoring applications
The module is well suited for UAV automatic landing, electronic scales, and barn or silo material level monitoring. Environmental conditions such as extreme ambient light, temperature extremes, and target reflectivity can affect measurement performance.
