Description

The Industrial RS485 Infrared CO2 Sensor is a rugged environmental probe engineered for precise carbon dioxide monitoring from 400 to 5000 ppm. Powered by non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology and sealed to IP65 standards, it is well suited for makers, educators, and engineers building agricultural monitoring, HVAC, and indoor air quality systems.

Accurate NDIR optical measurement

Utilising non-dispersive infrared technology, this sensor delivers stable CO2 readings from 400 to 5000 ppm. It maintains an accuracy of ±50 ppm in the 400 to 2000 ppm range and ±100 ppm above 2000 ppm, backed by a 5-second response time, a 60-second warm-up time, and manual calibration options.

Weatherproof IP65 probe design

The sensor features a durable M18 threaded plastic body fitted with a breathable polymer membrane that blocks water vapour and dust while allowing free gas exchange. Rated to IP65, it is built to operate continuously in harsh environments from -30°C to 80°C and 5% to 90% RH.

Standard RS485 Modbus-RTU communication

Equipped with an RS485 output supporting the standard Modbus-RTU protocol, the unit easily integrates into existing industrial automation loops and PLC setups. It can also be paired with RS485-to-UART conversion modules to read data directly into microcontrollers such as the Arduino UNO R3.

Low-power 12V DC operation

The sensor operates from a 12V DC power supply with an efficient working current of under 10mA. It includes a built-in status indicator light for quick visual checks and comes pre-wired with a 1-metre connection cable.

Versatile installation environments

Thanks to its threaded installation and robust ingress protection, the probe is ideal for greenhouse climate management, pipeline gas detection, fresh air ventilation testing, and general indoor air quality monitoring.
