Description
This industrial-grade water quality sensor measures blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) concentration in water using fluorescence technology. Designed for straightforward integration and rugged deployment, it suits environmental researchers, aquaculture operators, and makers building automated water-monitoring systems.
Optical fluorescence with light filtering
The sensor uses a fibre optic light path paired with an integrated filtering algorithm to eliminate external ambient light interference. It delivers precise cyanobacteria measurements across a range of 0 to 300,000 cells/ml with 1 cell/ml resolution and ±5% FS accuracy.

RS485 Modbus-RTU and temperature compensation
Equipped with standard RS485 ModBus-RTU communication, the sensor connects easily to microcontrollers such as Arduino and LoRaWAN telemetry nodes. An onboard temperature sensor automatically compensates for thermal fluctuations between 0°C and 60°C to keep readings consistent.

Factory pre-calibrated and IP68 submersible
The unit arrives fully calibrated from the factory, allowing immediate plug-and-play installation without manual tuning. Its IP68-rated corrosion-resistant plastic housing and 5-metre cable withstand 0.6MPa of pressure for long-term submersion in lakes, rivers, and ponds.

Broad environmental monitoring applications
With a wide 10V to 30V DC operating voltage, 0.4W power consumption, and a response time under 30 seconds, the probe is built for continuous duty. Common uses include early warning systems for harmful algal blooms, commercial fish or shrimp farm management, and remote hydrological IoT stations.
