Description
The Gravity: URM09 is a high-speed ultrasonic range sensor designed for fast distance measurement and obstacle avoidance. Communicating over I2C with built-in temperature compensation, it is an ideal choice for robotics students, educators, and makers building responsive autonomous navigation systems.
Fast ranging up to 50Hz
Designed specifically for rapid obstacle avoidance, the sensor supports a measurement frequency of up to 50Hz. This high refresh rate allows mobile robots to detect obstacles and respond quickly in dynamic environments.
Configurable measurement ranges
The sensor detects distances from 2cm to 500cm with a resolution of 1cm and 1% accuracy. Software settings allow you to select between 150cm, 300cm, and 500cm ranges, where shorter ranges deliver faster ranging cycles and lower sensitivity.
Defined ultrasonic beam angle
The module uses a directional acoustic beam pattern designed for dependable spatial detection. This radiation profile allows developers to effectively plan sensor placement and coverage on autonomous mobile platforms.

Integrated temperature compensation and I2C
Built-in temperature compensation maintains reliable measurements across operating conditions from -10°C to +70°C. Standard I2C communication simplifies microcontroller wiring and frees up analogue pins.
On-board regulator and power stability
An on-board LDO regulator prevents measurement attenuation across the 3.3V to 5.5V DC supply range while drawing only 20mA. Measuring 47mm by 22mm, the compact board easily integrates into space-constrained assemblies.
Supplied connection accessories
The package includes one Gravity: URM09 Ultrasonic Sensor module and one PH2.0-4P connector cable for quick plug-and-play wiring to compatible expansion boards.
